The Public Affairs / Public Information Division serves as the official voice of the Slidell Police Department, strengthening transparency, trust, and community engagement through proactive communication. The division manages media relations, public relations, crisis communications, and digital outreach, ensuring accurate and timely information is shared with the public.

The Slidell Police Department has received extensive positive media attention at both the regional and national level, including features on multiple nationally recognized television programs that have spotlighted the department’s professionalism, innovation, and commitment to public service. These appearances have helped showcase Slidell policing on a national stage and reinforce public confidence in the agency.

The division also oversees the department’s highly popular Facebook presence. As one of the first law enforcement agencies in the country to adopt social media, the Slidell Police Department pioneered a model of direct, transparent, and engaging communication that has since been widely emulated by law enforcement and first responder agencies nationwide. Through creative storytelling, timely updates, and community-focused content, the department’s social media platforms continue to set a standard for modern public safety communication.
