The Slidell Police Department’s longtime spokesperson and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐮𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐮, was appointed to serve as Interim Chief of Police, following the departure of Chief Randy Fandal, who was recently elected as the City of Slidell’s next mayor.

Chief Seuzeneau is a highly decorated veteran law enforcement officer, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Louisiana Tech University. He began his law enforcement career nearly 20 years ago as a patrolman, winning the Officer of the Year in 2013, a Lifesaving Award, Exceptional Service and numerous other accolades over the years. Seuzeneau later served as a detective in the Criminal Investigations Division, where he was at one time assigned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) task force. During his tenure as a detective, Seuzeneau was promoted to the rank of sergeant where he led several high-profile homicide, carjacking, and armed robbery investigations.

In 2010, Seuzeneau became the Slidell Police Department’s Public Information Officer and official spokesman for Slidell PD. He launched the first law enforcement Facebook page in the State of Louisiana. His efforts established a framework for other public agencies to effectively communicate with the community through social media. The page has since grown to over 180k followers. Seuzeneau has represented the department on several national television crime shows, including: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝟰𝟴, 𝙇𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙋𝘿, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘽𝙖𝙞𝙩 𝘾𝙖𝙧, and has made numerous appearances with both local and national news media outlets.

In 2016, Seuzeneau assisted Sheriff Randy Smith during his transition from Slidell Police Chief to Sheriff of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, serving as a Captain in the Public Affairs Division. He later returned to the Slidell Police Department, where he most recently served as Chief Administrative Officer under Chief Randy Fandal. He is also part of the S.W.A.T. team as a hostage and crisis negotiator.

Seuzeneau is married to Rachel Seuzeneau and has two daughters, Danielle “Elle” and Gabrielle, who is a criminal intelligence analyst for the Louisiana State Police.

Seuzeneau will hold the position of Chief of Police until the spring of 2026, when an election will be held to select a permanent police chief. Seuzeneau, who does not qualify to run for the position due to living outside the city limits of Slidell, will not be seeking the permanent role of chief. He will return to his position as the Chief Administrative Officer in July of 2026.
